The house is going up and the count down till Christmas has begun!

On Friday last week, the garage floor was poured and we were thrilled!  On my Birthday we decided to do a little happy dance there for good luck!
and a little puddle splashing
Gwen was all about playing the little Elf and helping Gram out
Wyatt kept trying to wrap himself up as my present!
My 30th Birthday consisted of relaxing, having no plans, and getting a manicure and a pedicure---really nice actually.  However, the big party will be next month when Brad and I treat ourselves to a trip to Disney World!!!!
On Monday they built our floor!
And all the framing materials for the walls was delivered
On Tuesday they built most of the exterior walls.  The crane wasn't there yet, so all the walls were laying on the ground ready to be put up on Wednesday.
They did get the garage framing up though...
Extra wood apparently makes for great building blocks!
Wednesday--We have something that looks like a house!!!!!!!  All exterior walls went up....
and all the interior walls went up too!!!!!
Wyatt thought this was his new playground!
"I just have to get a better look at that crane!"
Gwen went into every room and was reminding us what it was!
Thursday was supposed to be the day the roof was added, however we had a great wind storm....that continued thru today.  So, our roof will have to wait until after Christmas, but the plumber and electrician are on call to start as soon as it is up!  Things are moving along, but I don't think we are ready to have Santa deliver any presents at our new house---Gwen is concerned that they might get wet if it rains.  I think Santa might actually be a little relieved that he won't have to make the extra stop this year!  With only 3 more days until his big trip---we can't wait to see what magic he brings!

Our Elf is up to no good!

Since Dory arrived, she has been into everything this year! I don't know what she will do next!  However, she is being good about staying up high away from Wyatt's reach.  Gwen and Wyatt are both so excited for her to be here, and their faces are priceless when they find her and what she has done!
Snow Angels anyone?
Just a little winter fun since there is no snow here
The message we found one morning....
While Dory sat up high all innocent looking
Apparently she felt a little left out that we had decorated the tree
Just hanging around watching
Trying to be good after all the crazy things she has been doing!
In all this Elf craziness, Brad ended up with the flu--Wyatt tried his best to take care of Daddy
Our house as of yesterday.  The garage floor was poured, the basement walk out wall framed, and the floor beams delivered.  Monday the wall framing materials are to be delivered and an Amish crew of 13 should be arriving to frame it up.  Wednesday the truces are to be delivered and Saturday we are supposed to be ready to put the roof on.  We shall see!

The Magic of the Polar Express

The big event of Mimi and Bubba's visit was joining us for a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express!  There aren't enough words to capture the excitement and awe Gwen and Wyatt had that night, so I will just let the pictures do the talking :-)

Mimi and Bubba are back!

Mimi and Bubba came back for another visit and we couldn't be more excited to see them!
Who's afraid of this little wolf?
A little quiet time---amazing!
A gingerbread village to start the day off right!
Love the hat Wy!
Gwen took time to paint pictures for our special guests
And I had a great surprise!  An early birthday party just for me!
What could I possibly wish for?
Maybe a cute Moose?
Or a Diva?
