7 more days!!!!!

Here is my weekly update...Doctor's appointment went well again today. I didn't gain any weight this week (Woo hoo!), but Baby T's heartbeat is strong and she is moving well. I thought I was in labor Tuesday night because I was having mild cramps about every 5 minutes or so for about 45 minutes, but then they stopped and I was finally able to go to bed. I was a little disappointed to say the least, I am not uncomfortable or sick of being pregnant--I just want to meet her! My doctor thinks it will be "soon" but how soon he couldn't say. He did say "I am scheduling you (for my weekly appointment) for Thursday, but I would like to see you before then." We did discuss what will happen if I do make it past my due date today--I will not have to wait more than a week. He said that there is no benefit to baby if we wait longer than a week to induce, so he said that at the next appointment we would pick a day basically. I hope it doesn't get to that, but we will deal with that when we get there. Tomorrow is leap day and although I originally said I did NOT want her born on a day that only comes every 4 years, I would be okay with going into labor tonight or tomorrow now. Any time is great! Brad and I are ready, the bags are packed, the car seat is in, the clothes are washed... the baby's room isn't done, but neither is our bedroom (we are using the guest room as our room right now and we were planning on sharing with her anyway). We are very excited and just can't wait. I was telling Brad yesterday, it is like a little kid's (or mine still) anticipation for Christmas morning; only we don't exactly know what Christmas morning will be here. We can't wait to share news of her arrival with all of you and pictures too (sorry that there hasn't been any lately, but the camera is packed too). We love you and will keep you informed.

10 days and counting!

A friend of mine from high school was due on Feb. 20th, but has yet to have her baby as of Sunday...this is making me quite nervous! I am still trying to figure out is the funky feeling I just had was an actual contraction, the baby moving, or just me. I think I am having contractions, but they are so sporadic that maybe it is just my wishful thinking. Brad asked me the other week what we would do if my water broke in church (as we were walking into church mind you) or anywhere else public and now that has been my thought every time I leave the house. I think I am just a bit paranoid now! Although, if my water did break then I would definitely know it was time since the contraction thing isn't clueing me in as of yet. As I have been waiting, I've finished reading "What to expect when you are expecting" which I must say the "what to expect after you deliver" sounds worst than the pregnancy part! You hear about the adjustment and the lack of sleep parents deal with once the baby comes, but you never hear about the other stuff the mom gets to deal with for a couple months after! I just hope that Baby T is so precious that I will forgot how not fun my recovery is. From what I have gathered it will all be worth it in the end. I just hope and pray that my recovery is as good as this pregnancy; which has been a great one!

38 week update

I had another doctor's appointment this morning and we aren't much closer to having Baby T arrive then where we were last week. But, he was able to tell me that she is head down (which is a very promising thing) and he estimates her to weigh about 6 1/2-7 lbs. I think she is smaller than that, but he said that his is only a guess--he has a technique to help determine about what the baby weighs but he said it really is difficult to determine with her still inside. He did say that he doesn't think she is itty bitty but not a big baby either--she is just right! I haven't been having many contractions so far this week; just feeling her stretching and pushing mostly. Brad is enjoying that her movements are strong enough to know that it is her and not just me breathing. We both can't wait to meet her, but unfortunately I think we are going to have to keep waiting (although tonight is a full moon...we shall see).

19 days to go!

March 6th isn't that far away! (Baby T is 37 weeks!)

Brad has his countdown counting the days until his little girl arrives (just look at the chalkboard), and we are very excited that we are only a couple weeks away from meeting her. Now 37 weeks along she could be born any time now; I can't believe that time has gone by so fast! I am doing well, hanging in there and just waiting. I am taking it easy around the house and doing some work on the computer for school. I have been having more contractions this week, but nothing consistent just more intense. I am sure that it will get worse before it gets better however. In the mean time, the baby's room is finished up and things are getting put away. We should be all ready to go very soon--hopefully before she comes! Just our luck, she will be here first!

Still hanging in there

With Baby T and I at 36 weeks, we are just sitting around waiting for her to arrive. Our doctor's appointment last week went well-Baby is measuring on target and I am already dilated 1 cm. Basically, for those of you unfamiliar with the baby terms, that means that I am 1/10th of the way ready for delivery. That doesn't mean that she will be here sooner because 1st babies normally take their time. As we wait, we are tackling the boxes and slowly unpacking all our goodies and finding a place for them. The baby's room is still in the works, but the bassinet is ready! With the help of some family, we will be ready in no time.
