Happy 4th of July!!!!

4th of July week was one of the hottest weeks of the summer!  Of course, it also was the week that the trailer on our future home's property was finally disappearing.  We hired a few guys from about an hour away, and let's just say they are some of the roughest country men I have ever met!  It was a mix of a 75 year old man from somewhere in Kentucky with a very thick accent, no teeth, and a pacemaker, his son who barely spoke a word, and a grandson in his mid 30s all covered in tattoos. I could barely understand any of them, but they came with a recommendation and a will to work.  Despite the heat, this is the trailer after a few days on the job.  They were taking it apart piece by piece to sell everything they could.

A few more days and more progress....
This was a great site to see at the beginning of their 2nd week! The rest of the job was clean up at this point.
A little play time prior to a much needed cooling and fun swim lesson
While the guys at the trailer were hard at work and sweating like crazy...Gwen, Wyatt and I were chilling at swim lessons:-)
Wyatt loved Gwen's swim lessons too...it was a time for him to play at the playground and swim in the baby pool
A year later and Amber (Gwen's swim teacher) picked up where they left off together the year before.
Look Mom!  I'm gonna touch it!
All cool from swimming, we usually headed back to check out how progress was coming at the land.  This particular day was a very special treat....
The land was getting cleared!!!  Since we are planning to build at the back of the lot, we had to clear away some of the woods where the house will eventually sit.
By early afternoon, the trees were cleared and this is what it looked like:-)
Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!
Who isn't glad to have a digital camera...otherwise this may have been the 4th of July pic of the year!

Finishing up June

Back at home after our trip to Chicago, the kids were happy to be just kids!  They loved being out in the yard, even in 100 degree weather!  I tried to keep us in as much as possible, but with these two....it just isn't going to happen!
Wyatt loves the slide-even the small ones!
Anyone up for a ride????
More kids!!!!!!  After Charlie Horse had to be sold since she couldn't have babies, Wyatt and Gwen became the proud owners of twins!!!!!!  Say hello to Bob!
And Molly!
Wyatt is in love....with tractors!!!!!
"Just going about my day and checking on my goats"
Ready!  Set!  Go!
Check out these moves!

Kenneth's Baptism and a visit to Chicago!

To start off June, we headed to Chicago for a visit with the Caseys and McKenzies!  We also were able to be there for Kenneth's baptism and were so happy to celebrate with everyone.
Splash time at Mimi and Bubba's!
Wyatt was all about playing around with his favorite things...anything with wheels!
Hi Molly!
Gwen took the camera to entertain herself during the baptism
Bless you Kenneth
So much fun playing in a hammock!
Time to chill!
Gwen couldn't resist ticking Lilly too!
Looks like someone just got caught...being too cute!
Another nap for Mr. Kenneth, but he will be up in a minute to check everyone out
Gwen's drawing of her and Lilly:-)

Slash pad or slip and slide?

Wyatt kept trying to get things out of the cooler...however he kept trying for the beer.  But, when we tried to get this trick on camera....all we got was ice.  Still funny!

What were the Tempels up to in May....finally!!!!!!

So, I must be the worst blogger ever if it takes me until September to update everyone on May, June, July, and August!!!!!  Well, I plan to make to up all of you with at least a blog a week until I am caught up!!!!!  :-)
While in West Lafayette for Joey's graduation from Purdue, Wyatt was so excited he just couldn't sleep!
Check out what landed on our door step!  Gwen and I were so excited to see such a beautiful and HUGE (it was at least 4 inches wide) butterfly....she was a little disappointed to find out later from Daddy that is was a Luna Moth not a butterfly.
Gwen was so hot she was trying anything to make some shade
Gwen started her summer with a butterfly experiment.  She received 3 caterpillars in the mail and was able to watch them grow, build cocoons, and them emerge as beautiful butterflies!
We officially took possession of our land in mid May.  This is the before of where the house will be.
Our lovely trailer and heart pond.  This again is what was....wait for more to see what the site looks like today
Look at that pitiful face!!!!!  Poor Wyatt got Poison Ivy head to toe after spending just a little time at the land
Such a trooper!  Since Wyatt is the youngest case of Poison Ivy at his pediatrician's office, he couldn't get a steroid shot like most people get when they get a rash this bad.  So, he had to have a salt water bath 3x a day and be covered in Cortisone cream to ease the itch.  After a full week, Mr. Wyatt was almost completely cleared up and still as happy as could be!
At the end of May it was time to release the butterflies!!!!!
Watching them leave their nest and saying some words of advice
Mr. Motorboat--
Wyatt wasn't saying many words, but he was a master at making a motor sound
Happy Memorial Day!

In April the Tempels.....

April began with a trip to Chicago to meet our new nephew and cousin, Kenneth and to celebrate Easter.  Along the way we stopped to see our friends Jenn and Andy and their new baby, Adelaide.
Hi Adelaide!!!!!
Gwen found her favorite kid sized animals as soon as we arrive

The guys spent some time getting to know each other
Hello Handsome!  Such a sweet little baby!
While Kenneth was inside spending quality time with  his mommy, we headed outside to play and check out all of Lilly's toys :-)  Wyatt thought her tricycle was awesome!
The girls thought the bubble blower was pretty sweet!
After dinner one night, Gammy took us to one of her new favorite stores...Charming Charlie's.  Gwen felt right at home and tried on almost every hat in the store!  I wish we had a store here at home just so I could check out all the was in there!
Happy Easter
Wyatt just couldn't help himself...he just kept making the funniest faces!
Gwen couldn't believe that the Easter Bunny actually found her in Chicago
Wyatt even got into the hunt
While in the Windy City we headed to one of our favorite spots...the Shedd Aquarium!  Loved the Jellies!
Once bad home, the Easter Bunny made a surprise visit at Gram's!  WOW, he's busy!
The wind was so strong that day that Wyatt could barely get to his basket!
"I'm heading out!  See you in a bit!"
Goat, goats, and more goats!  Gwen's goats are having baby goats and they are so cute!
As promised, once we moved (and returned home from a long weekend) Gwen got a new pet.  She was still upset about not having any pets at home and no one to care for, so off the the pet store we went to get her a fish
Say hi to Gilly
The winds have been nuts here and great for kite flying.  Gwen loves trying to control Daddy's old kite
That smile says it all!
Movies to share...
Dance for us Wyatt!

Brad's bees have arrived

Slow down Gwen!  Wyatt loves every minute of this even if Gwen is moving way too fast!
